Deliberative Democracy

Giving power back to the people by going beyond elections. Deliberative democracy entails a series of approaches and theories that aim at giving real agency to the citizens by enabling them to discuss and deliberate based on reason and evidences.

Some of the topics/themes under this are centered on:

  • The different forms and ways of doing deliberation at grassroots level.
  • Review of some of the best practices in terms of implementing local citizens assemblies.

Through this area, The Good Leadership Academy will help participants answer the following questions:

  • Why is deliberative democracy so important for me and for the society?
  • What are the links between deliberative practices and localization of the SDGs.
  • How can I start implementing some deliberation centered initiatives?
