Deliberative Democracy
Giving power back to the people by going beyond elections. Deliberative democracy entails a series of approaches and theories that aim at giving real agency to the citizens by enabling them to discuss and deliberate based on reason and evidences.
Some of the topics/themes under this are centered on:
- The different forms and ways of doing deliberation at grassroots level.
- Review of some of the best practices in terms of implementing local citizens assemblies.
Through this area, The Good Leadership Academy will help participants answer the following questions:
- Why is deliberative democracy so important for me and for the society?
- What are the links between deliberative practices and localization of the SDGs.
- How can I start implementing some deliberation centered initiatives?
