Our Common Agenda and the Summit of the Future
Our Common Agenda is a holistic blueprint prepared by Antonio Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations, a call for indispensable and needed actions across the all spheres of policy making. It is a vision for a better future for humanity and planet Earth that is achievable only if urgent interventions are undertaken.
From digital governance to youth engagement to a rethinking of how wealth is measured (going beyond GDP) to reforming the international financial institutions to a proposal to govern the outer space to changes in the field of education, just to mention some key areas, Our Common Agenda is a vast and important proposal for global reforms.
The Good Leadership organizes learning and expertise building opportunities around the Summit of the Future, a major global event that the Secretary General of the United Nations is going to organize on 22-23 September 2024. The Summit will provide a platform to discuss some of the transformative ideas contained in the “Our Common Agenda”, a major report prepared by the SG that contains, among others, wide ranging proposals, including more and better jobs and decisions making for the youths and the endorsement of a Global Digital Compact and efforts to go beyond the GDP as a tool to measure wealth and development.
Through this area, The Good Leadership Academy will help participants answer the following questions:
- Why is the Common Agenda important and relevant for them?
- How can they lead on these topics at local levels?
- How can the outcomes of the Summit of the Future be implemented and remain relevant?
